It was the last day of the Gillette cup qualifying round. The boys had their tails up after the nail-biting win against Town. HVHS won the toss and elected to bat on a pitch that was ‘spin friendly’.
We got off to a great start with Matty Mccomb and Tyler bowling some chat nurries with the new ball. At the first drinks break HVHS found themselves around 45 for 1. Ravindra then came in to bowl and ripped the ball a mile, destroying the middle order with figures of 5 wickets for 15 runs after 10 overs. Hutt Valley reached a respectable total of 126.

The boys got off to a good start with Nikunj cracking the ball all over the park. At drinks we were in a comfortable position. Once again Rachin showed his class and smacked the ball to the boundary many times, reaching yet another 50. We cruised home with 20 overs to spare and claimed a convincing victory.

The boys were unbeaten and will now go through to the Wellington Regional Final on the 4th of April which is played at the Basin.

A big thanks to all of the supporters who showed up today.
