The HIBS men turned up in all force today, looking for the big W again. 10:45 passed and it was time to toss, looking to bat first HIBS loss the toss and were put into bat first.
The lads got off to a great start with Logan Slee getting off to a solid total with a knock of 52 off 97 balls, keeping the boys together throughout the innings. Gareth “Goose” Webster run out after 15 balls quote, “another day at the office”. The engine room just didn’t quite fire today as the boys would have hoped but some cheeky runs here and there from Jesse “main” Tashkoff, Nikunj (Jai) Patel and Gus Simpson to pull the lads to a run chase of 141.
The boys quickly jumped into the shed and had a quiet munch of some tucka then were back out there warming up for the second innings. With the lads firing up on all cylinders, rearing to go and before we knew it Jai had snagged a respectable 4 wickets for 11 off his 6 overs. Followed by Brett “haircut” McBride getting 1 wicket for 22 runs after 9 overs. Another few that stood out from the bowlers were Jesse Tashkoff with figures off 2 wickets for 12 runs off 9 overs, and Goose Webster grabbing one wicket at the end to finish the game.
HIBS taking the win by 83 runs and silencing the opposition in the process.
