The HIBS 1st XI took on HVHS in the 1st round of the national tournament qualifiers, HVHS won the toss and chose to bat on a niggly green seamer. The boys took a while to break into the HVHS battling line up but with some good pressure bowling from Mac he was able to pick up the first wicket. The HVHS opening partner soon followed as Wattie picked up another wicket. Their batting line slowly crumbled as there were four ducks in the last 8 wickets and HVHS managed to scrape their way to 85/10. Standouts with the ball were wattle with 3 wickets for 12 runs off his 6 overs and Goose with 2 wickets for 11 runs off his 8 overs.

We started our batting innings with a not so good start as ‘Gary’ Webster got a good nut and was walking back to the pavilion for none off his 1 ball.  Jai and Logan brought it back for us as they put on 42 with Jai hitting 2 massive sixes and looking promising before  ‘classic’ Nikunj ran himself out. Jesse came to the crease and was there until the end with the boys getting an early W In tournament.
