BATTING: The HIBS 9A side got off to a solid start with Liam scoring a four of the first ball but shortly after lost his wicket. In came Charlie Wilson to steady the innings making 41 runs before getting caught by their keeper. Cole Kennedy made a respectable 25 runs. But the star of the batting innings was Nikunj Patel with a 48 ball 80 including 2 sixes (1 caught one handed by a supporter) before getting an unlucky run out. Kobe Fleming also made 41 not out to add to a mammoth total of 286 at a run rate of 7.15
BOWLING: HIBS got off to a flying start with a wicket from the first ball of the 2nd over, dismissing Alapp Elias clean bowled by Liam Ferrier. It was all downhill for HVHS from then on with their next 4 batsmen only making 12 between them, they were all out for 52, with a comprehensive bowling display from Campbell Webster with 3-5 from 1.3 overs.
FIELDING: It was an overall good performance from the boys, there was a direct hit for a run out and 2 great slip catches from Campbell. The use of a silly point was used for the first time in the season, applying even more pressure to the HVHS batsman.
This game was a great start for the NZCT tournament with a 234 run win and MOTM goes to Nikunj Patel with his 80 runs. Our next match is against Rongotai College on Tuesday.
